Local Empowerment

revisión vista grabado hindú

The concept of local empowerment refers to the effective participation of communities in making decisions affecting them as a collective and as individuals. Local empowerment increases opportunities and abilities of individuals and groups to choose and express their choices and transform them into desired activities and outcomes. The ability of people to participate in the function of local government and the provision of local services is not only determined by the allocation of individual resources (money, information, skills, etc.), but also social capital, which serves as the basis for collective activities undertaken to improve the quality of life and solving community problems. Since the conviction that local empowerment is the basis for the success of projects and generating lasting changes, the Chair includes this component as the basis for all of its projects.
